NSAG defeated in Gosford Council's Environment Committee
A motion was put to Gosford Council’s Environment Committee on Tuesday 15.2.11. This motion was to recommend to Council that the Council formally request the State Government to conduct further testing of the Adelaide prior to it being scuttled.
“After a submission by the No Ship Action Group (NSAG), the motion was voted upon and soundly defeated” said Sue Dengate, secretary of The Central Coast Artificial Reef Project (CCARP)
“At last common sense has prevailed as more people are becoming resilient when faced with the bullying tactics of NSAG and their distortions of the true facts” said Sue
“The Adelaide Artificial Reef has real and tangible benefits to the marine environment and to future generations, not to mention the educational benefits that the Adelaide will bring to our community” said Sue Dengate
“We would also like to re-affirm the ex-HMAS Adelaide’s motto”
“United for the Common Good”
