CCARP says "we've WON the War!"

The Central Coast Artificial Reef Project (CCARP) is absolutely delighted that the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, after considering the significant amount of PROOF presented by the state, has found that the Adelaide presents no problem of pollution and should be scuttled off North Avoca as planned” Said Sue Dengate, secretary of CCARP

“It’s been a 10 year war, with a 6 month battle at the end, courtesy of No Ship Action Group (NSAG), but the truth has prevailed” said Sue “and we’ve won the war by the State proving that The Adelaide meets ALL requirements laid down by Australian and international protocols. In fact, all dangerous pollutants were REMOVED BEFORE NSAG even started!” Dengate said

“Our ship was clean before 27th March and complied with all sea dumping protocols BEFORE the permit was signed. This was very evident even on the first day of the tribunal hearing when the No Ship expert had his FIRST look at the ship and backed away from their claims of PCBs”

“The extra precautions imposed by the tribunal will make local people feel more comfortable with the Adelaide project who before may have been scared by propaganda” said Sue “and everyone being comfortable is a good thing for the whole of the Central Coast community”

“So let’s get on with the sinking and start to enjoy our new attraction and the sinking day will raise much needed funds for charities” said Sue Dengate

“We have in the Adelaide an opportunity to create a wonderful marine park that benefits the whole community in so many ways, and will provide a marine research site for Ourimbah Uni (along with others) and increase the population of many species of fish.” Said Sue Dengate

“For the last ten years, this project has been the dream of those who had a vision of introducing not only a major dive site and a boon to tourism for this community, but more importantly an ecologically sound marine research site and we are glad that this vision can now become a reality.” Said Dengate
